Sydney distillery Archie Rose has long been known for offering drinkers the chance to tailor their own spirits – from liquid to label. Not only is a bespoke drop an incredible gift, it also shows off local distilleries and celebrates collaboration. Next to team up with Archie Rose? None other than Sydney Opera House.

Later this year, the Rosebery-based distillery is dropping two new single-malt whiskies, both inspired by famous performances at Sydney Opera House. The best part? You get to decide what those performances are.

Whisky-drinking Opera House aficionados are invited to have a say in how these limited-edition whiskies take shape – and, if you’re lucky, you might just score a bottle or two.

The first drop will be a nod to the Opera House’s classical performances. Maybe it was Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake by the London Symphony Orchestra, or maybe the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs doing This Secret World. Archie Rose’s whisky is looking to capture the classical sound in a bottle, by showcasing the sharp and precise notes of classic whiskies.

Conversely, the second whisky will celebrate highlights from the Opera House’s contemporary music programming, again aligning this with the whisky. Many stars have graced the stage under the sails, think The Cure, Courtney Barnett, Crowded House and Florence & the Machine.

The two new whiskies will launch in November 2024, so get your votes in stat – then watch Archie Rose bring your favourite musical moments to life. Every entry goes in the draw to win a set of the Archie Rose x Sydney Opera House whiskies.
